What It Costs
Friday 1st August - Sunday 3rd August 2008
Black Barn House, Walpole St. Peter, Cambs. PE14 7PN.
The vast majority of activities over the weekend are completely free.
The only things that costs money are accomodation, food & drink.
The costs of different accomodation is shown on the accomodation page of this
website. The only other things that cost money are as follows:-
On Site Bar & Food
Reasonably priced drinks are available all day and late into the
evening at our on-site bar. Snack food and Barbecue Food are also
available
through the daytime for lunches and brunches etc all
at very reasonable prices.
Friday Night Curry Extravaganza
On the Friday night we tuck into a multi-dish extravaganza of
curries and rice and other indian treats. There is an additional cost
for this if you wish to book it of £10.00 per person.
There is a LOT of food, so bring an appetite. Vegetarian food is available
and there is also an alternative for people who don't like curry
but still want to eat with the curry crowd!
Saturday Night Medieval Banquet
The BIG Saturday night event, which is usually the highlight
of the weekend and the event in which everybody gets involved
is the Saturday Night Medieval Banquet.
Fancy Dress is highly-recommended. This is a story-based
themed event in which all those taking part (usually everybody attending)
will take the part of characters from the DungeonWorld land of Bereny.
You can play an actual character you control from the game if you want to, but bear
in mind that things that happen at the meal can be reflected in the game.
If you prefer to play it safe, or don't play DungeonWorld, then we will provide
a character for you to play when you arrive or you can just can one
up yourself and play it for the event only.
There is an additional cost which includes all the food
and all the beer and wine you can drink (should you choose to)
the cost is £12.00 per person.
Sunday Night Chinese Meal
Sunday Night is not technically part of the Minicon
but people often stay Sunday night as well to make it a full
'long weekend'. For those many die-hard players still around
on Sunday Night we usually go out to a local chinese restaurant
for a meal. Should you wish to come along, we just split the bill
evenly by the number of people who are going. (No bean-counting allowed.)
Nights Available
Although the Minicon's official times are Friday evening
until Sunday Afternoon, we can take bookings starting on the Thursday
night and/or including the Sunday night for those who want to make a long
weekend of it. Lots of players do this, so you'll have no shortage of
people to play games with should you decide to make your weekend
three or four nights instead of two.
