House Rules
About House Rules
When taking part in *any* Madhouse game you are subject to the House Rules shown on this page. By submitting orders and taking part you are agreeing to these terms of play. If you do not wish to be subject to these terms, please do not play.
Game Decisions Policy
Madhouse decision in all matters pertaining to our games is final. Of all the House Rules shown here, this one takes priority over all others and is fundemental to understanding how we manage our games.
Data And Code Policy
Madhouse reserve the right to make changes, alterations, deletions and additions to any game position, player data, code, rule, text or other part of the game, whenever we feel it is necessary, with or without notification, as we see fit. All data that forms part of the game, both that given to players, created by player actions and that retained by us, is owned in its entirety by the creators of the game, Madhouse UK. Players who participate do so voluntarily, under the understanding that any contribution they make forms part of the whole whose rights and ownership remain entirely with Madhouse. Players who leave the game have no rights over any aspect of the game in which they have participated. Any data thus created can be used or discarded by Madhouse at will.
Data Protection Policy
The only personal data Madhouse retain pertaining to players of ours games is that voluntarily supplied by them and necessary to manage their accounts. Such data is deleted when a player leaves the game, upon the players request and subject to the proper dropout procedure. Data is never released to any third party and is protected by the current laws and regulations in the United Kingdom.
Refund Policy
All credit sent for payment in this game is considered as purchasing gameplay within the game environment. It is immediately converted from money to game funds and as such has no monetary refund value. Consequently, no refunds are available, in whole or in part, for any monies sent to fund a credit balance in this game, under any circumstances. It is very important that all players take note of this policy as we have no wish to offend or upset. Participation in this game requires understanding and acknowledgement of these rules, and in particular, this policy. If you ask for a refund of game credit, at any time, for any reason, you will be informed this is not possible and you will be directed to reread this paragraph which, hopefully, makes it patently clear that there are no circumstances where refunds will ever be offered or available.
Deadline Policy (1)
Abnormals has no fixed deadlines. You can send orders whenever you want to. However, players are expected to send a set of orders at least once every two weeks. If no orders have been received for two weeks an ‘automated’ turn will be generated (and charged to your account in the usual way.) Automated turns will continue to be generated until your position runs out of funds at which point you will be sent a reminder which will give you a further two weeks to rejoin the game by sending some orders. If you still do not do so, your position will be deleted permanently. (See refund policy above.) Freeplay positions, which have no funds in them anyway, are deleted two weeks after the missing-turn reminder is sent.
Deadline Policy (2)
Madhouse take all possible precautions to be sure of reliability of our systems. However, we cannot be held responsible for any lost data, turnsheets or missed turns resulting from machine or internet failure.
Overdrawn Account Policy
Players must keep their accounts positive at all times. While Madhouse reserve the right to allow accounts to go into the red you should not count on or expect this. Your GM may decide to drop your position if your account does not hold sufficient funds to process the turn.
Dropping Out Policy
If you wish to drop out you must inform Madhouse in writing, remembering to quote your name, account number, player number, and game name. Failure to do so may result in your *not* being dropped out and the resulting red account will be a legal and valid debt in your name which you will be expected to pay in full. Freeplay players who disappear without doing us the courtesy of dropping out properly will be banned from all Madhouse games thereafter.
Diplomacy Policy
Players are encouraged to contact each other in the spirit of roleplay, friendly rivalry or good diplomacy. However, all contact between players should be in the spirit and good-nature of the game. Players acting rudely, irresponsibly or unpleasantly may be immediately removed from the game without refund.
Cheques and Postal Orders
All cheques or postal orders should be made payable to 'Madhouse UK'.
Turn Error Policy
If you think Madhouse have made a mistake with your turn... contact us and let us know! We'll try to put it right or compensate your position in some way if we believe it is our fault, or explain where you want wrong if we feel you are mistaken. However, Madhouse have a strict policy of *never* re-running a turn.
